These days more and more celebrities are branding themselves even further by venturing out into the fashion world. And why shouldn’t they? Celebrities nowadays have come to a height of great idolization from their admirers, and venturing into the fashion world seems like the logical next step, especially in today’s entertainment industry where almost every celebrity has already established a brand for themselves. It’s only another step towards creating a competitive edge for themselves against other similar artists. Celebrities are not only making a mark as actors or musicians, but they’re also successfully venturing into their own businesses of opening production houses, managing restaurants and also designing clothing lines.
With fashion being the most popular modern-day consumption, more celebrities are taking this opportunity to market their names by having their brands stamped on the back of our clothes. Among the celebrities who have already successfully done this include Gwen Stefani with her brand ‘L.A.M.B’ (Love Angel Music Baby) and ‘Harajuku Lovers’, Jennifer Lopez with her ‘JLO’ line, model Kimora Lee Simmons who created ‘Baby Phat’, Sarah Jessica Parker who created a budget line called ‘Bitten’, and not forgetting the mega rich twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen who have released various labels like ‘The Row’ and ‘Elizabeth and James’.
The male celebrities are also showing their metro sexual side by creating successful clothing lines which include ‘Rocawear’ created by rapper Jay-Z, ‘Sean Jean’ by Sean “Diddy” Combs, ‘Apple Bottoms’ by Nelly, ‘William Rast’ created by Justin Timberlake and his childhood friend, and also ‘Ice Cream’ by Pharell Williams. All these brands have proven that celebrities can obviously become the jack of all trades by successfully launching careers other than singing or acting. These mentioned brands are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to celebrity clothing lines. Other celebrities with clothing lines are:

With all the hype of celebrity fashion designers, it’s no wonder that more and more celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon of creating a clothing line. After all, celebrities have become fashion icons for their fans and most of the time fans would do almost anything to look and dress like their favorite celebrities. Creating a fashion line that is able to portray their own fashion sense allow their fans to be inspired and enthused. Although celebrities are branching out into the fashion industry, not all of them have proven to be successful in designing clothes. Only a small percentage of celebrities have made their mark in creating clothes that are trendy, stylish, accepted by the majority, and most of all, one that sells!
