Miami Fashion Week is one of the biggest Hispanic events for fashion in the United States. The fashion week consistently provides some of the best Latin and international fashion, art and music. The week also has cross-over appeal. Designers, celebrities and entertainers from all over the globe come and visit from places like India, Australia, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Canada, United Arab Emirates, St. Kitts, Barbados. Many individuals from both the Central and South America’s also attend.

There are many fashion shows and events throughout the week with many celebrities and designers in attendance. At the end of the week, The Miami Moto awards take place along with a celebrity fashion show that includes well-known recording artists and guest designers.

Beth Sobel is the founder of Miami fashion week. She was once a renowned fashion model. She walked the runways of South America, the Far East and Europe. She also has produced fashion shows for over 20 years. Initially, this fashion week was a way to showcase the collections of designers from Latin America. However, it has expanded to include designers from all over the world, including Australia, Asia, North and Central America, the Middle East, Europe and even the Caribbean. In 2000, Sobel was given a proclamation from the state of Florida, for the hard work that she has put in to establish the Miami Fashion Week.

For Miami Fashion Week’s 10th anniversary, many sponsors offered their money and support. They included in part, the Apollo Magazine, Dorchester Hotel, ClubPlanet.com Citibank, Si Latino Newspaper, Spanish Broadcasting Systems, The Hotel Astor, OneTickets.com, The World Trade Center in Miami, The Office of the Mayor: City of Miami, Lynn University Fashion Department, and Copa Airlines. Again, this is just a partial list.

Tickets for the fashion shows are only $25. Individuals who want to attend the Miami Moto awards will be required to pay $100. Clothing buyers are able to go to the shows for free. They are also given priority seating and are able to receive free admission to Trend and International business seminars, meetings with the designers, discounts for their accommodations, VIP access and invitations to all of the special events.

The Miami Fashion Week was created by formal model Beth Sobel. She has produced fashion shows for the past 20 years. It was initially created to showcase the fashion abilities of Hispanic. Currently, it is one of the biggest fashion shows for this population. It has also expanded and become more inclusive. Fashion designers and press from all around the world, visit Miami during this week to participate in and cover this outstanding event. It continues to grow and gain respect and notoriety. The beautiful surroundings and party atmosphere of Miami makes it a great place to hold a fantastic event.
